Langkawi island!
Here comes an update from Langkawi, a Malysian island close to the border to Thailand. We've been here for about five days, and it's like we've taken vacation from our vacation! The beach is sooo nice, the sand white and the water has just the perfect temperature! Just a few steps from the beach lies the mainstreet, with small shops, restaurants and guesthouses.

One day began with something called islandhopping. We got an a small boat an went to the islands around this island. :p Took a swim in The lake of the pregnant maiden and spotted eagles catching fish on the surface. Then we went to a tiny island where we lay down in the sun. Unfortunatelly, we didn't checked the time as often as you should when you're on a tour and the guide tells you "one hour!".... Soo, when we realised that the boast should have left 10 minutes ago, we grabbed our things and ran to the boats. Yep, it had just left. But the chauffeur saw us waving and calling on him, so he turned back! ;)

After this tour we hired a privat taxi, and the driver took us north to some interesting places we wanted to see. We started with a crocodilefarm, and everyone who knows me (or have followed this blog) know I'm not so fond of zoos or animalfarms and that kind of stuff. Think animals are better off in the wild, instead of being locked in in crowded cages with way too many animals inside. And the Swedish zoo's are just as bad as the ones here in Asia. The kill the animals when they want to make place for new species, and tuck them in a freezer room to later give as food to the predators in the park, and in some cases even the zoostaff get to eat it!! Disgusting!!

Anyway, back to our privat taxitour! ;p The crocodile show had some awful moments when the trainer stabbed the crocs with a long stick.. but at least they showed the largest croc (a huuuuuge one!!) the respect he deserved.

Later we went to the cable car, from which you'll get a complete view over Langkawi and sometimes even the coast of Thailand. But now it had started to rain. a LOT! In a few seconds it went from bright sunshine to taking-a-shower-with-your-clothes-on-rain! Sooo, we went to the Seven Wells Waterfalls instead. It's a loooong chain of waterfalls going up in the mountain and forrest, so it's only possible to see the seventh one. Which is, by the Malaysian-count, the lowest one. Would rather call it the first, but whatever... After this we went home to our hostel (or guesthouse as the call it here).
You'll find the best milkshakes at Sandy's D'grill!

The next day we went on a Mangroove tour, which was awesome! Had such a funny guide who asked about how Roxette was doing, and got a bit surprised when I told him they havn't done anything for the last 10 years... Anyway, we drove around the river and saw some monkeys (these were acctually kinda cute when I knew they couldn't steal my stuff!), more eagles and a couple of varans. During this, our guide told us interersting fact about all the animals, like when an eagles life-long partner dies, it dies a long with it because it won't hunt or eat. Then we visited a batcave (where Evelina got some batpoo on her!) and a beautiful desolated beach. After a swim here we went to a floating restaurant for lunch!

When we came back, we had to take care of our broken toilet...! It had been broken since day one, but it got more and more broken for every day. We had told a guy who worked there about it and he had tried to fix it, but apparantly this didn't work....!! And since all the other rooms were full we couldn't switch. Sooo, we went to the manager and asked if we could get a cheaper price, but he only gave us a few crowns discount even though we explained that the water from the toilet went out on our floor!!
And when we started argue he flipped and told us to go find another hostel. We said we're gonna do so but we still wanted to explain how we felt and why we were angry. Then he screamed that it wasn't his problem and that he wouldn't listen to a word we said. When we kept protesting and called him disrespectful he pointed at the exit and even louder screamed "FUCK YOU!!!!! GET OUT OF HERE!!!!! "THIS IS MY PLACE, AND I NEVER WANNA SEE YOU AGAIN!!!!!!"

So we left. God I wanted to punch him so badly in his ugly face, but then he'd probably report to the (corrupt) police here, and I'll be in Malaysian jail for the rest of my life...!

Don't worry mom, we've found another hostel and I'm not in jail (yet)! :)
